ALL the gos on 2026 dancing 🕺🏽

AE DANCE + FITNESS

Okay I'm typing this while getting my hair done, day 1 of Christmas break (after a bloody joyous final night in the studio). And ideally I want to send it before I leave the hairdressers*. SO LET'S GO DANCERS!

Gabbie's MT intensive - 27 Dec 🙋🏻‍♀️

While officially our next term starts on Jan 5th, we are sneaking in one final MT/Jazz workshop with Gabbie Love on Dec 27th. Perfect for Int/Adv dancers who are DESPERATE to move their bodies after Christmas!

PS We are currently planning Gabbie's January intensive for 24 Jan. Details to follow.

2026 classes - what's new? 🚨

  • We're starting 2 new Heels classes with Georgie, on Mondays at Connect (the old Hideout). Beginners at 6PM and Intermediate at 7PM.
  • We're also welcoming a new teacher (!), lovely George, who'll be running a new Int/Adv Musical Theatre class at BGS on Tuesdays.
  • We're starting a new Beg/Int Musical Theatre class with Lauren on Wednesdays.
  • We're starting a new Beginner Floorwork class on Mondays, 6pm at The Island.
  • On Wednesdays, Burlesque will now be at 7pm (with Izzy!) and Commercial at 6pm (with Joseph).
  • Izzy, Eleanor and I (Angie, hello!) will now be sharing Sweaty Mess. You can see who's teaching what dates in the class description here.
  • Lucy is working away all of Term 1, so we've got raucous Rosie covering the Mon Tap + Beg/Int MT classes, and lovely Lauren covering Level 4 + 5 Tap.

Thinking of signing up to a Total Beginner Course?

We've got TONNES of beginner courses next term and...in the last 20min Bethany and I decided to whack on an extra Total Beginner Heels course, 6pm Fridays!

Here's the full list for you (might be worth forwarding to a new dancer pal?)

AYCD - 10 Jan 🫵🏼 (you need to hurry up!)

Okay boo, if you're wanting to come to AYCD 2026 you need to hurry up because loads of classes are already full (see ❌ below).

And, to put a bitta extra fire up your butt, I can also tell you loads more sessions only have 1 or 2 spots left.

  • To sign up, grab your AYCD Class Pass here.
  • Then head to the schedule here and select your 5 classes
  • Go ahead and pay (it'll look like there are 6 things in your basket - that's normal).
  • It'll only cost £20.

New teacher, George, will be running a Int/Adv Musical Theatre class at 15.20 by the way - I'd really recommend that one!

Join us for our 'How to Choreograph' workshop with Rhys Wilkinson 🧠 - 25 Jan

Here's a little something we've be working on in the background and are BLOODY DELIGHTED to finally announce!

On Jan 25th, we'll be welcoming back friend of AE Dance (and in the case of Lydia, family) Rhys Wilkinson for a VERY special workshop all about ‘How to Choreograph’.

Fresh off of Paddington the Musical, on which they were Assistant Choreographer (insane, I know) Rhys will be sharing their choreography process, and helping us explore our own!

Expect collaborative creativity, inspiring insight and practical tools your can apply when choreographing - whether it's making up dances in your living room or preparing show-stopping pieces for a musical!

There are only 25 spots on this workshop guys, so if you're keen, I reckon book today.

Get informed: Voulez Groove 2026 🪩 (19/20 June)

You may have already seen this video explaining how our next BIG show - Voulez Groove 2026 - is going to work. Spoiler alert: it's a very different format to normal.

If you're more of a written format kinda person, you may want to peruse this Google doc that has lots of helpful info in it too. HOWEVER please note all the groups/timings in this doc are MOCK UPS - they are not fixed yet (especially not the groups). In fact, this doc was originally just me sharing basic details with Dave our tech guy. So it's very much a draft skeleton. But helpful nonetheless.

Dancer of the Month - Dec 2025 ⭐️

And my final message of 2025 - it's our December Dancer of the Month! The MOST enthusiastic, passionate dancer who's thrown herself into every show, style and opportunity during her short by busy stint at AE Dance (including choreographing and performing a beautiful solo at the Choreo Show). This dancer has in fact literally just flown back to their home in Hong Kong, but we wanted to let them know that there'll always be a dance home for them in Bristol too. BONNIE YOU ARE OUR DoM for DECEMBER 2025! CONGRATULATIONS!

Let us know the charity you'd like us to support with your winnings and we'll send that over. Now just to find a way to get your gold sticker to Hong Kong...

Right, it's now 21hrs since I started this newsletter. I am no longer at the hairdresser. I'm finishing it up on my sofa before heading on my annual 12 Pubs of Christmas pub crawl with my school friends. Wish me luck.

I wish you luck for the festive period. And while I am defo keen for a Christmas break now, I gotta say...the 2026 dance calendar is looking pretty fun hey.

Let's go for it everyone!

See you in Jan!

AE DANCE + FITNESS Hey dance fam, Coming to you today, still smiling to myself thinking back to the giggles and triumph of the Choreo Show last week (recommended viewing). And with the sudden realisation that our next show - SLEIGH! - is 5 weeks today! I am literally the person who books (and lives and breathes) this shit. And I was shocked by the news. Fortunately, us teachers are all organised and ready to go! And this newsletter holds all the info you need to sign up - amongst an array of...

AE DANCE + FITNESS Throwback to our first ever show in June 2019 - a few familiar faces in there! Fantastic shorts. Terrible poses. "We currently have 3 shows on the horizon" I've never been able to say that before. 3 of our own shows - dates set, venues booked, tickets on sale (well, for 2 of the 3 at least)! I still remember the conversation at Bristol Improv Theatre, in October 2018, when I first decided "yep, I reckon we're big enough to put on your own show now". Some of you were...
