Voulez Groove (and Commitment-Free classes) explained 🙋🏻‍♀️

Voulez Groove 2026 - Explained!

Voulez Groove is our BIG dance show coming up on Fri 19 and Sat 20 June 2026.

Voulez Groove classes

Most classes will prepare show pieces and perform - you can see which classes on the list below!

But it is totally optional to perform! You are super welcome to come along to classes as normal even if you can't make Voulez Groove. Most classes will still run pretty much as normal until mid-May (just with slightly more focus on one routine, rather than changing each week).

If you'd like to know when/if it's a good time to join a class, shoot us an email as each class will be at different stages in their show routine as the term goes on.

Commitment-Free Classes

If you're reading this and thinking 'I absolutely DO NOT want to go anywhere near a class that's preparing for a show routine', please don't panic! We'll also be running Commitment-Free classes from April-June.

These are classes that will run totally as normal, and will not be preparing show routines. You can see a full list below...

On the booking site you can filter between Commitment-Free classes and Voulez Groove classes using the light blue filter buttons above the class schedule.

Now back to Voulez Groove chat...

Understanding the show format...

There will be 3 Voulez Groove shows - 1x on Friday evening (19 June), 1x on Saturday lunchtime (20 June), 1x on Saturday early evening (20 June).

Importantly, different routines will feature in different shows - you can read all about that here (on the groups tab). Or watch this video (probably more helpful).

Getting more details...

The main "resource" where you'll find ALL the Voulez Groove info is this Google doc - the Holy Grail. If you have a question and this doc doesn't answer it...something's gone wrong - please email us to let us know!

Noting down key dates...

Important thing to note above:

  • The rehearsal weekend is for all dancers to attend. It's at the venue and is the first (and only!) time we'll rehearse on the actual stage before the show. You'll only need to attend specific rehearsal slots based on your routines. These will be announced in the Spring.

Signing up...

To sign up to dance in Voulez Groove 2026 you need to do the following 3 things before 9 May (but ideally by the end of April)...

  1. Get a participation ticket
  2. Join the WhatsApp group
  3. Sign up to your routines

Each of the above is super important. You need to have completed all 3 by 9 May to be a part of Voulez Groove 2026. So please double check you have completed all three steps - if you aren't sure, check again and email us.

And... after you have done these steps, make sure you book yourself onto your Voulez Groove classes - if you aren't booked on to your classes, you won't be able to be in the show pieces.

"Should I take part...?"

Abso-bloody-lutely! These big shows are the highlight of the dancing calendar and SUCH a lovely way to get to stuck into the community, celebrate each other and celebrate yourself! (Plus get your fam and friends to do the same). Building show routines and putting on a show is a big feat - there will be so many moments of laughter and success. And also challenging moments too when you're battling nerves and working hard to pick up new choreo. But when you actually get on that stage and SHINE BRIGHT LIKE THE STAR THAT YOU ARE - that experience is magic. And the kind of thing we don't get to do that much as adults, especially if in your day job you are doctoring/teaching/parenting/9-5-ing! So if you're not sure whether the dance show is for you or not, this is your sign to say it is ✨

Any questions at all, check the resources above. And if that doesn't answer it...we've done something wrong so feel free to email us!!

Right...shall we put on a show then?!?!

See you in the studio!
